US TARIFFS

FOR US CUSTOMERS

Regarding tariffs, here is what I know and how I will proceed as a seller based in France:
I had meetings with my shipping counselor who has reassured me on the tariffs situation after I told her of my worries for my packages heading to the US, and she told me that they have received no official statement or change in their shipping regulations to the US or french packages being subjected to US tariffs.
She told me that even if it is, that is still very much a work in progress and that as of today in their notice: packages under 800USD of value should not be taxed. Not only this but if taxes WERE to apply, it would not be automatic since the packages are sent from France and not China directly. She and I discussed safe ways for me to declare my packages and since April I had no issue with my packages to the US!

This situation is very delicate but my shipping counselor urged me not to take drastic measures for a situation that is still very unstable and likely to change!

FURTHERMORE:
With the kind help of a friend, we conducted an "experiment": I sent him a package with both items declared as France and China of origin to see if he would get taxed on the package, and if yes, if it would apply to all items or only the China of origin ones.
He received his package without any issue or taxes (and I can confirm that all my previous US orders from April had no issue as well), so my guess is that tariffs are:
_not applied automatically thanks to packages being sent from France
_if applied, most likely to apply ONLY to those CN of origin.

Now my advice to US customers:
While I had no orders that got hit by tariffs, I did have a fellow small business friend who had a US customer hit by tariffs:
so even though odds are good, if you wish to purchase at my shop, I advise you JUST IN CASE to be mentally prepared to have items on your package subjected by tariffs which are the following (that I will be declaring as China of origin):
_Keychains
_Bags
_Mousepads
_Enamel pins

The rest should not be subjected by tariffs!

As of today, I will ship my US packages as usual. US customers, as I said, please keep an eye out for possible taxes but from what I've discussed with my counselor, everything should proceed the same as usual!
